This year is looking like a big year of growth not just for my business but also for my personal life. There are a lot of things I am currently manifesting in my life. And I know because you are here too, you are a big dreamer, go-getter who has a list of what she’s working on too.
I also know that the most important thing to helping you manifest your successes, your true desires this year could be the very first thing you let fall to the side. So the way I am focusing and devoting myself to my success this year might surprise you, but it’s taking the best care of me.
At the beginning of this year when I was traipsing around Canada and road tripping through the sites of the Grand Canyon and Yosemite National Park (I know lots of name dropping, but bear with me!) I had a lot of time for quiet contemplation.
From guided meditations in the morning, to visualizations on a bus driving into the newest town or merely taking a powerful moment to pause at some of the most incredible sights I have ever seen I really got in touch with what I wanted for this year.
When thinking about what I was going to manifest, and what was going to unfold, I asked myself what do I need to do to achieve this?
The beautiful answer, you don’t need to do anything it is already on the way. What you do need to focus on, is taking the best care of you. And if you do that the rest will flow.
It was so simple, and it truly is that simple. When you are taking the best care of yourself, when you are sleeping, functioning and eating the best you can it’s easy for life to flow, to feel great and for you to achieve what you desire.
A lot of what I talk about is based on simplicity, see your mind likes to overcomplicate things and I like to make it so simple and easeful to move forward. Notice, it’s simple, it can move with ease, but it’s not easy.
So I am sharing with you what I am putting into place to help me take the best care of me so that I can be the best person I can be.
Let me express there is 100% fluidity in all of what I say. I believe in moderation and if a night out late is going to light up my soul then I will, but these are the foundations I lay for myself because I love myself enough. I love myself, to take care of myself, to show up for myself so I can do my best work in the world.

WORKING WITH EXPERTS
I am currently seeing a chiropractor and naturopath that I am absolutely loving and adoring. My hormone health has not been great for over a year, my body has been sending me signals that I haven’t been listening to mainly because they weren’t excessively bad, but knew I needed to get things checked out. So I’ve invested in my health. It was always something I wanted to do, I thought I would do it when I have enough money, feel like I am ready, but those excuses are always there, aren’t they? It never gets easier.
In truth, I have become more of the person I want to be by doing this outward experience than any kind of ‘inner’ work I could have done. I’ve started eating different foods, becoming even more aware of my body and treating it with proper care.
Before seeing my naturopath my nights would consist of me watching a lot of Netflix and falling asleep with Netflix on my bed with my laptop, sleeping restlessly, tossing and turning in the middle of the night and finally waking up to an alarm, turning around and checking emails and social media leading to stress instantly. I know, totally less than ideal!
Thankfully, my naturopath put me on a new night time routine to let my body know it’s wind down time. It’s funny, how this was so simple to implement, it’s almost like my body has been screaming at me for it.
I try to be in bed at 9pm reading so that I am asleep before 10pm, I love my sleep so this isn’t difficult for me. I shut down screens and wind down from whatever I am doing by 8:30pm. I even created a new Feel Good Vibes playlist on Spotify that I play when I have my shower before bed.
This is becoming such a powerful part of my life. From falling asleep with it at night time, to incorporating it into my day when I feel my body needing it, to my yoga practice which I love. Meditation is what helps me stay high-vibing. What helps me stay connected to myself and removes all the other barriers. It is also what I do to visualize my future.
I am loving meditation to quiet my inner mind and help me remain focused on where I want to go and what I want to do. It can be difficult to get started, and difficult to let slip because once you feel good, it’s like you don’t want it anymore. But I want to keep coming back to this.
My journaling is so important to me, it’s how I show up as the best version of myself everyday. There are a certain prompts and exercises I do most of the time to help me.
- Writing down my goals or desires I want to manifest and re-reading these.
- Asking myself ‘what do I need to let go of for this to occur?’
- Asking myself ‘what do I need to do to achieve this?’
And a whole other range of inner questioning, diving deep and letting it all out to help me figure out so much.
I have given my diet an overhaul. I ate healthy before, but I realized upon going to see my naturpoath that there are certain things that weren’t working at their optimal function. So I still eat great, healthy food but I have switched up the composition of this. I am taking time to prepare my meals, eating mindfully, having 3 meals a day – or working towards that, and also keeping realism and moderation in mind.
I am starting to realize there are certain foods I eat and I instantly feel anxious. I am seeing which ones have me feeling full for longer and stop those energy drops.
It’s a long process, and it has been difficult at times, but I have already seen such rewards to this experience.
FUN + ADVENTURE
When you have big goals to kick it’s easy to get caught up in action, action, future thinking, make-it-happen-yesterday attitude. But in reality I still have a great freaking life which I love. I work a lot, I have a business on the side, I take care of myself, all of the list of things that you do as well.
The other day though, I thought where is just Maddison’s time, Not work Maddi, business Maddi, or any of that. But pure and simple where is my time to just be. So I packed the laptop away, headed down the coast with my partner for a weekend of boating, beach adventuring and simply being.
It totally filled up my entire cup and reminded me what I am working for. Yes, I am working hard for my goals, to achieve certain things, but I am doing all of that so I can have the best life. And my best life is not working 24/7 it’s not even working 5 days a week, and I don’t have to apologize for that – and you don’t either.
